Fish on!!!

A great read for anyone interested in fishing. I even had my nephew who is an 8th grader read it and he loved it to the point he even took notes. JD gives you everything you need to know to get more than your fair share of perch in a clear and concise format. Everything is covered from the types of perch to the best setups. What is especially interesting is his section on reading the water and what to look for. This is probably the most important and often overlooked part of angling.

Great Source of Information

The book is very informative and has everything for anyone interested in taking up surf perch fishing. Most books written on surf fishing apply to East Coast beaches, this one specifically zeroes in the SoCal setting. Has since down graded my shore fishing equipment to the suggested light tackle and has seen positive results. Truly, a mini bible for the surf perch enthusiast!

This book is more essential than the bait on your hook

To be honest, it's been quite a few years since I've targeted perch in my fishing endeavors, and those weren't met with a lot of tugs at the end of the line. But I also admit that probably over half of the all the other fish I catch are due to what I've learned from JD's writings, and I was excited to dive into this one.
It doesn't disappoint with so many tips and techniques delivered in an enthusiastic and packed book. I'm heading to the coast this spring, and no doubt will be gearing up for perch. Now I can't wait to get out there! Happy reading.
