Totally captivating!

Fantasy is not my go to genre but I found this book hard to put down. Matuzas skillfully weaves multiple distinct story lines into a coherent narrative. Unlike some books that weigh the reader down with description ad nausea, Matuzas brings his characters to life with well-crafted dialogue. I found myself really caring about the characters and their fate. I will definitely buy the sequel.

WOW! This was a very different story from anything I have read. It's very fast paced and unpredictable, definitely fantasy because a lot of it is just "unbelievable". I found it very hard to put down because I wanted to know what happened next. I didn't like the result of the war, was hoping it would end better. Now I'm curious to see what happens in the next book, if there is one! :) I received a copy of this book free from Story Cartel for my honest review.

If you like the fantasy genre

If you like the fantasy genre, this is a great first entry for what promises to be a fun and exciting new series. The plot is fast-paced and exciting, the characters are interesting, and the world Matuzas builds is rich and well realized. I'm a geek for fantasy novels and I definitely enjoyed it. It's only a few bucks so why not give it a shot?
