Great resource for vascular trainees

Although daunting to start with, this is a comprehensive and easy to read reference for vascular surgery. A must have for all current and aspiring vascular trainees, or even part-timers who have a keen interest in this expanding field.

For an aspiring trainee such as myself, it has been difficult to find such an up to date reference that covers the background to difficult subjects like basic sciences and fundamentals to endovascular surgery, as well as in depth discussions on other vascular staples like carotids, chronic limb ischaemia etc.

Although initially worried about the size and cost, am DEFINITELY glad that I took the plunge and bought this for myself.

Outstanding reference

This is the largest reference in vascular surgery available. The authors are world-wide well-known pioneers and teachers in the vascular and endovascular surgery. The book covers the whole spectrum of vascular surgery. The chapters are well written and nicely illustrated. The refereces are up to date. Every surgeon who is involved in the management of patients with vascular diseases would find this book an outstanding source of knowledge. Vascular surgeons in training must buy and read this great book. The established vascular surgeon would welcome this book as a comprehensive reference. This book is highly recommended. Certainly, it is a 5 stars book,and buying it is a valuable bargain.

His curiosity about the mysteries of the past is anathema to those selected to rule; Equality's rejection of his assigned menial role is if anything an even greater affront to his master. Forced by the lesser men around him to flee, Equality and his lover, Liberty 5-3000, find refuge in a conveniently preserved chalet, free to rediscover eternal truths suppressed by their totalitarian forefathers. Adapted from Rand's 1938 novella, Staton's art is oddly crude for such a veteran artist, but oddly well suited for Rand's clumsy, hectoring story. The product of a time when authoritarian regimes seemed destined to prevail, written by a refugee from the Russian revolution, Anthem might have been a valuable reminder of what happens when ideology trumps humanitarian concerns, but sadly, Rand was not up to the task; Santino and Staton do what they can with this dismal tribute to egotism, but the result is still a hard slog. Oops! A Big Mistake

I was so excited to receive this book and share it with my students who read Anthem. Unfortunately, that excitement disappeared after I saw the word "I" in the story when the protagonist, Equality, hasn't even discovered the word yet. This ruins the book entirely. Until the publisher corrects this major error, I would not advise anyone to purchase this graphic novel.

Grandparents who love liberty should purchase this book

I bought this book for my grandson (now nine years old) as an introduction to the theme of individualism vs. collectivism. It was originally written as a novelette and shouldn't tax the patience of a young person who is becoming aware of life's values and principles for living.

The setting is the future where there is no personal pronoun "I"; everyone thinks in terms of the collective, using the word "we," following the dictates of strict laws and council edicts, and so the world has reverted to a primitive, tribal existence.

One man dares to think for himself, discovers relics of a technological past, and re-invents the light bulb. Thinking to benefit his brothers, he is denounced and flees to the wilderness.

The hero is an inspiring example for young minds and demonstrates the importance of the individual in human life.

I've learned from this book that it's really important to value ourselves and our personal freedom.
"I" is the respect for myself and I'm a individual person who different from others.
I couldn't say the changes of world or social relationships are positive or negative.
During the time from past, I still believe the relationships has changed to fit the society. If everyone could value themselves, the relationships would still be changing.
This book is easy to read but hard to understand and discuss the idea. I think it is a good choice for advanced learners of English.
After I read this book, I have thought a lot about my government and I have no ways to change the reality. This is just a good idea for us to discuss.

A "One Trick Pony" Storyline

This reimagined version of the 2008 presidential election and subsequent Obama administration is, in many ways, compelling. It becomes less so after a hundred pages of being hit over the head with the same theme: the pursuit of money has corrupted us politically and personally. OK, we get it. So after a while this comes off as a repetitive rant, kind of tedious, and made annoying by too many typos and editing errors. On the plus side, the author's erudite writing style combined with many literary and historical references make this book a cut above the usual political diatribe.

It's probably a good book for someone that is not very familiar with the 2008 financial crisis or finance in general. I was genuinely disappointed in the number of spelling mistakes and typos throughout the book, especially given the price I had to pay.

THE 'Roman a clef" of XXIst century

Michael Thomas has written THE "Roman a Clef" of the twenty first century. It is not too obscure -- think seasons and winters for the self confessed economic genius of the world. He has written many fine books, characterized by erudition and artistic sensitivity. So, at his relatively young age, it is a wonder that Michael has created a suspenseful but highly credible tale of the corruption of Barak Obama in his dealing with Wall Street. Corruption above is used in an active mode, the President - in the book and in my experience - was utterly ignorant of the whole operation. The book uncannily identifies just those developments in the 2008 disgraces about which almost every sentient human has questions - how could it be? This book provides credible and suspenseful answers. If there is anyone in your acquaintance who would appreciate a really fine read, please send them Fixers as fast as your fingers can move on the computer.

Warriors of Dark Ages Britain

First of all, I have no complaints against the actual content of this book; the information is accurate and well-presented, and it is a good source visually. My problem with this book is that, like many early men-at-arms titles, it simply bites into way more than it could chew. The organization and weaponry of three distinct cultures spanning a period of roughly six centuries is a sizeable topic indeed for a book of 40 pages. Though I will not say that this book is a total waste or that I wish I had not bought it, there are better alternatives availible from Osprey; for example, the Vikings and the Normans both have their own elite titles, which are much more in depth, and all three of these peoples have titles on their warrior elite.

Buy the individual titles instead

This book, covering Dark Age Germanic/Scandinavian warriors (Saxons, Vikings, and, ultimately, Normans), was an early Osprey offering, designed to have as broad an appeal (and, hence, market) as possible. Since it was published, however, Osprey (having discovered how rich the market really is) has published numerous, more directed works on the Saxons (e.g., "Saxon Thegn"), the Vikings (e.g., both "Viking Warrior" and "Viking Hersir"), and, of course, the Normans (e.g., "Norman Knight"), which cover each of these types in far better fashion and far greater detail than this book can - or does. If you must know about the Vikings, buy one of the "Viking" titles, ditto the Saxons or Normans. Then, if you wish, you can always add this - just because the pictures are cool. However, don't expect it to act as an "overview". There really is no attempt made (at least beyond the most obvious - e.g., "the Normans were Vikings who settled in the north of France" kind of stuff) to integrate the various groups or to tie them together in any kind of rational sequence or to otherwise synthesize their histories. It's not a bad book, just a bit too broad and too basic to do justice to any of its subjects and, because it was published before the more detailed works, it wasn't really designed to bridge them or to tie them together. Tho', as I noted, the pictures are cool. Osprey's pictures almost always are. That, alone, is worth the $12-$18 Osprey usually asks for one of their titles. If nothing else, think of it as helping to keep Angus McBride at his easel. It would be a shame if he were reduced to painting the covers for romance novels or the "Twilight" series paperback editions.

BEWARE! Now Print On Demand, weak bindings

For the book itself, 5 stars, for this particular (PoD) printing, 2 stars. Excellent, compendious semi-scholarly coverage of an interesting topic, with great illustrations. BUT, Osprey has evidently shifted the production of all of its titles to Print on Demand, and it shows. While the printing and quality of the materials seem comparable (e.g., I cannot discern much difference in the art plates, even), whatever process they use for the bindings is NOT. I have owned a handful of older Osprey Men-at-arms books for years, and they are rock solid. I've received four Print-on-Demand Osprey books in the last week, and two of the ALREADY SHOW SIGNS OF FALLING APART. Not cool, Osprey.

Wow. This is a very short read. Not what I expected. The book was like reading a diary. You get to read her emotions and feelings. She tells you her erotic fantasies. Then she helps a colleague to work with an overseas consultant. They say he's nice, a charmer and she knew she will never meet him and he's married. They started emailing and texting. I'm not a fan of cheaters but the story kept you going. I loved the story I want to read more. It's not a normal read but it was hot. Can't wait for book 2.

I was given the opportunity to read/review this book direct from the author

A mystery internet relationship develops over time via email and text, this is then taken to the next level when fantasy becomes reality when the two parties decide to make their sexual fantasy become real.

A secret meeting place is arranged, and an encounter is organised, does it go to plan...............

He is married and she knows that a Sexual encounter with him will be more emotional to her than just a one night stand, but she also knows that she cannot have him.

Its the tale of the forbidden fruit, you always want what you can't have.

She feels it is totally worth the obstacles she may face by carrying out her total fantasy.

This story is written with share emotion and desire, it is a total erotic fantasy relay.

I don't personally condone infidelity but if you can put that aside you will enjoy Scarred.

A total cliffhanger ending makes us all anxiously await book two, so we can find out the outcome of this escapade.

Loved this!

Its realistic and honest. Very touching and 'dear god' horny, christ on a bike it was delicious. This short story is told from a woman's point of view, a wealthy hard working woman, who was looking for something more. Helping a friend out with some work and hearing about a fellow worker, she replies to an email with a bit of cheeky banter, and is surprised to receive an equally cheeky response. So starts an email and text affair with a married man. This is cleverly written and truthful, you do forget that she is exchanging heated conversations with an unattainable man. You can feel her feelings and desires for him, her language and actions are clear they jump out at you! Her imagining them together,(Licks Lips) wonderful. I'm on edge to read part two, which will be from the wife's point of view. Highly arousing, dreamy, sad, captivating read.
